Sealcoating Asphalt throughout Florida

Before any sealcoating is applied, the asphalt must be free from dirt and debris.  Potholes and cracks in the asphalt must be filled first.  All oil spots, chemical spots and/or gasoline must be completely chemical cleaned prior to applying sealer or the material will not adhere to the asphalt surface.  Sealcoat can be applied by spray, brush or squeegee machine.  Generally two coats of sealer are applied depending on the surface.  The first coat should be completely dried before applying the second.  Once the sealcoat has been completed the asphalt surface should be allowed to fully cure before any traffic is allowed to run on the area.  Under normal conditions the ideal time is 24-36 hrs.
